My family has graced me with helping with my Emerging Technologies final, and the following questions were really just fun facts about my father and my eldest sister. I also asked for information from some of my other family members through this really new, hip way to send things, email. I'm kidding, but my father still uses email like it is texting, which is very humorous! In the fifth grade I had a family project just like this and started a family tree that ventured back to the 1500's, here's a look at my tree. then I decided to share some information about my foreign ancestors, who have a life that is truly way more interesting than mine.

Then I decided that I should focus on the adventurers in my family that traveled over from overseas, and collected the surplus of information in an infographic. Although my mother would be saddened by this 5 frame story board, it ranges from the oldest to the youngest in my immediate family. My mother begins the tear as my eldest sister, Lacey follows, then my older sister, Chelsea, and finally ME!! The ending image is of my sister Chelsea, Lacey, and I!

I thought that it was a really good poem/ video clip that really shows what our society has begun to turn into. I agree with everything he says, and when I am nervous I do make conversation, but other times I just like to sit an use my phone or a book as a distraction. I like being able to talk to people face to face, but the thing is they would rather talk phone to phone. I love being able to enjoy others company, and a message when we are further away but I also like to be able to leave my phone at home and not be scrutinized by friends for missing their calls. Honestly the fact is that I am different in my generation, I don't like to only be able to spend my day texting instead of hanging out. One day my friend wanted to get a hold of me and I had just left my phone home so I could have a decent family dinner, but when I arrived home there were seven missed calls and around 25 messages. This was all in a matter of less than 60 minutes, and when I got a hold of her she was mad because my response was 50 minutes late and she had called my other friends to get a hold of me. I can't even have a nice conversation without my phone or theirs going off at least once, and that bothers me because I don't want to experience the world through a phone or through technology, I want to experience it by meeting new and interesting people.

What do you think about it? What is the teacher trying to say? In your own words explain what "the main event" is.

I thought that the teacher was right, I mean I normally go above and beyond what I am asked to do, but I constantly see people quitting in school. As I pass through the halls I hear such things like, "Well I just failed that test, oh well!" No one cares about succeeding anymore all it is always all about technology and getting famous based based on insignificant actions, such as posting a new photo. The teacher is trying to say that students make his personal life harder because their will to succeed is nonexistent, and he wants to make them have success because he cares about them. The main event is life itself it is about being successful and having the will to be there and to be thankful for the teachers.

Reflect on your stop-motion animation project. How did it go? What worked? What didn't work? If you're not finished - why? If you are finished go in to detail about the project and what you learned. Give as much detail and information as possible.

Well I thought that it went okay, it was definitely not one of my strongest projects. I am not that creative, I can come up with creative idea based projects that have a guideline and what not, but not this creative. I thought it turned out okay, even though there were some blurry pictures that needed to be removed, and the camera was a little shaky. Kaitlin was a huge help, because I honestly had no idea what I was doing, or even how to do it. I found that applying the finishing details was the easiest part of it, not actually getting the essence of a stop- motion. What didn't work was the steadiness of the camera and the fact that I have the creative mind of a rock. I struggled a lot with this project, it was fun, but it was stressful.

What is your idea for your stop-motion animation? Explain yourself. Have you started taking photos? If not, when do you plan to take your photos? What is your action plan for today? What is your plan to GET SOMETHING DONE?

My idea for this project is to show the life of a student, by using a pencil bag and my Ap exam booklet and showing all of the utensils climbing out of the bag and flipping through the pages. I have not started taking photos, because I wasn't here on Monday, so I honestly don't know what we are doing, at least how to create a stop- motion animation. I plan on taking my photos today during class and maybe a little on tomorrow. I would like to have all my pictures taken today, and maybe have majority of the project finalized by the end of class tomorrow. To work hard, quick, and efficiently to be able to complete as much as possible before the weekend.

What is stop motion animation? If you don't know, look it up! Explain.

It is using a certain movie program that can make stagnant objects appear to be moving, even though in reality they aren't. You use a series of shots of scenes using things such as using clay or puppets to act out the scene by using programs to make them talk and come to life. This is used all the time such as in a bunch of Tim Burton movies and even the Hogwarts castle is shot in a way that makes it able to appear real. This concept is basically taking continuous pictures moving an object a little at a time, and then morphing the series of pictures to create a little movie.

Tell me about your 5 frame storyboard. What did you like about the project? What did you dislike? Was it hard to fit a story in to 5 images? Do you think you tell a clear story? What would you do differently if you could? Explain.

I liked how we got to edit the photos and use our creative minds to put together a story through images. I didn't like how we couldn't explain the story or at least give a little bit of a background. I thought that it was extremely had to fit the story into five images, because I am so used to having to express details in all of my stories for honors english language arts. I think I do tell a clear story, it is just hard because dance team tryouts, which is what my story is about, aren't for another week. That made it hard to show how the girl made the team, or at least tried out, and I would maybe try to include the idea of dance more throughout. I would also like to improve on photo taking skills.
